"Hello, is this customer service?"

"This is IT support.. My name is Sue. How may I help you?"

"That rhymes."

"Excuse me?"

"Sue. You. They rhyme."

"Oh, so they do. Oops, that did, too. Um, may I help you — err…today?"

"The email on this computer isn’t working."

"Why do you say it’s not working?"

"It’s an email message I just got. It says my email isn’t working and to call customer support."

"Let me get this straight. You got an email telling you that your email wasn’t working and to call customer support?"

"That’s what I said, isn’t it?"

"I hate to tell you this, Ma’am, but someone is pulling your leg. If you could receive the email and read it, then your email is working."

"Oh. I didn’t think of that. I’m new to this technology thing."

"I’m sure you’ll pick it up eventually. Is there anything more I can help you with today?"

"Well, it’s the oddest thing. That email gave this phone number and said to ask for Sue. That would be you. Oh, not me, too!"

"Can this be true?"

"Would I lie to you, Sue?"

"Who wrote the email, Ma’am?"

"Someone named Stew. It says he’s an it consultant."

"Good old Stew. How do you do? Uh, that’s IT Consultant, Ma’am. IT is Information Technology. And this is now starting to make sense."

"It is?"

"Yes, Ma’am. It turns out the joke wasn’t only on you. It was on me, too."

"What can we do?"

"Nothing."

"Are you sure, Sue?"

"Positive. It will drive him crazy. And he deserves it."

"Well, toodle-oo."

"And the same to you, too, err, goodbye. Whew!"
