Losing Weight and Staying Motivated

Losing weight doesn’t require some complicated formula. All you need to do is eat better, eat less, and exercise more. Even though it looks easy on paper, real life is different. Creating a weight loss plan and seeing it through is really hard, and it’s going to take willpower and discipline.

Devolving the habit is hard. It is easy to rationalize not to go to the gym because of a busy day or to have a second desert aJust this oncea. Short term rewards are often more seductive than long term rewards.

Weighing yourself daily provides excellent motivation, and the numbers on the scale donat lie. You will see numerical reminders of your progress every day if you do this. When you feel like breaking your diet, just visualize how the scale would read tonight. That can be the boost of willpower that you need to turn down temptation. That can be the reason that you exercise hard every day.

Second, you need to focus on a long term goal. A goal weight, a waist size - whatever will focus your mind. You want to remind yourself about your goal a couple of times a day. Once again you need to remind yourself of your long term goals so

Creating a visual reminder of your goal and putting it in a prominent location goes a long way to ingraining the goal in your mind. Writing down your goal weight and keeping it in your wallet is a good idea, because you will see it every time you reach inside. Hang a picture of the body type you want on the fridge so that it makes you think twice before helping yourself to some ice cream from the freezer. Hanging your ideal size outfit on your bedroom door means youall see it first thing in the morning when you wake up.

Also make sure that you have a few supportive confidants. Explain you plans and outline your goal. Encourage your friend to ask you about your progress regularly. Use peer pressure to your advantage. If you need to report your progress to your friends at regular intervals, you’ll stick with your diet and exercise plan. You wouldn’t want to let your friends down.

You don’t want to focus on the short term or competitive aspect. First, this can lead to short term weight loss that can be quickly regained. Instead, focus on longer term weight loss. Second, it can lead to competitive. This can be a good thing ia or it can lead to despair and embrace of failure.

What it takes is breaking your long-term goal up into lots of small, manageable steps. Measure your progress daily. Enlist the help of friends. Real weight loss takes time so be patient and stick with it. Keep reminding yourself of your ultimate goal and you’ll be able to push yourself until you achieve your dreams.
