Anyone who loves rock ‘n’ roll, loves AC/DC. AC/DC has been around since 1973 and they are still producing great music. Their albums are flying off the shelves in Walmart’s across the US and their North American Tour is selling out fast. This just proves that you don’t have to quit rocking as you get older.
The band AC/DC was formed in 1973 in Sydney Australia by Brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. These brothers had moved to Australia from Scotland as boys along with much of their family. Over the years the band has survived the loss of many members including their lead singer Bon Scott, who died in 1980 after a night of heavy partying. The current lead singer Brian Johnson joined shortly after and they have produced many successful albums together.
The band has produced 20 records in the last 35 years and most of them have been hugely successful. The group has struck a deal with Walmart so that their newest album will be sold exclusively through Walmart stores, Sam’s Club (owned by Walmart), and acdc.com. So far the deal is a success because; ‘Black Ice’ sold more than 780,000 copies in the first week after its release.
AC/DC started their North American tour to promote ‘Black Ice’ on October 28, 2008 at Wilkes-Barre. Concert listings show that the tour will cross the country playing 42 shows before ending in Nashville on January 31, 2009. AC/DC will reach their 2000th concert on this tour. That means that they will have played more live shows than the legendary Rolling Stones.
