Although there are those people who would argue, there is a difference between photo resizing and resampling even though both are Photoshop tools designed to change the size of an image. Many people make the mistake of using the two terms interchangeably: however the means by which resizing and resampling is performed is different. The key lies within how the image itself is altered. If this sounds confusing, have heartthe difference between to the two is just one simple checkbox away. Looking at the bottom of the Image Size dialog box, you will see a checkpoint option. This is the option that defines either the resizing or the resampling of the image.
Under the Image Menu at the top of the screen, will be what is called the Image Size dialog box. This again is the one option determining resizing or resampling. An image is actually composed of tiny dots of color together called pixels. How the number of pixels is changed or not changed defines resizing versus resampling the image. Photoshop terminology refers to this as altering the pixel dimensions. Keeping the pixels number the same and only changing the size you wish the picture to print is called resizing. Photoshop refers to this is changing the document size of the image. But, if you in fact change the amount of pixels making up the image, it is known as resampling.
Image Resizing - Changes the size the image will print out as without changing the number of pixels in the image. Image Resampling - Changes the number of pixels in the image.
Resizing vs. Resizing An Image
Photoshop’s Image Size dialog box contains some key pieces of information and is separated into two main parts. Pixel Dimensions make up the top half, while the Document Size portion is underneath. Pixel Dimensions shows the width and height consisting of the number of pixels the image is made up of. It also displays the file size of the picture. The Document Size part also shows width and height, but these are the dimensions at which the image will print. The image resolution, also found in the Document Size section of the Image Size box is what these numbers are based from. So remember, he Pixel Dimension will change how an image is displayed on your computer screen or even on the web, whereas changing the Document Size dimensions will affect the print size of the image. Pixel Dimensions = web Document Size = print
Let’s first take a look at what information the Image Size dialog box contains. Photoshop’s Image Size dialog box is separated into two main parts. The Pixel Dimensions section is the top half, while the Document Size section is the bottom half. The Pixel Dimensions part shows the width and height of the image in the number of pixels it is made up of. It also tells us the file size of the picture. The Document Size half displays the width and height at which the image will print. This is based on the image resolution, also found in the Document Size section of the Image Size box. A simple way to remember the difference in applications is that the Pixel Dimension will change how an image is displayed on your computer screen or even on the web. Changing the Document Size dimensions will effect the print size of the image. Pixel Dimensions = web Document Size = print
Also in the Image Size box are three more options below the Document Size section: Scale Styles - Deals with Layer Styles and how they’re affected by resizing or resampling the image. Constrain Proportions - Enabled by default, links the width and height of the image together. If you make a change to the width of the image, for example, Photoshop will automatically change the height, and vice versa, so that the proportions of the image remain the same and don’t get distorted. Resample Image - THE IMPORTANT ONE!!!
We will touch a bit on Scale Style and Constrain Proportion, but it is that last box being checked or left blank that determines resizing vs. resampling. Remember that resizing keeps the pixel dimensions unchanged and only increases or decreases the size at which the image will print. Resampling however, actually changes the number of pixels in the image. The Resample Image option will be automatically checked by default. Basically, the dialog box still says ‘Image Size’ at the top, but its function now is as the Image Resample dialog box while being check marked. All options in both halves, the Pixel Dimensions and the Document Size, will be available to you.
The Scale Styles and Constrain Proportions options at the bottom of the Image Size dialog box may or may not be grayed out. When ‘Resample Image’ is unchecked, you will not have access to these options. Scale Styles is grayed out because it’s only used when the number of pixels in an image is being changed. With the number of pixels in the image remaining the same when Resample Image is blank, the Scale Styles is not necessary.
You will find that Constrain Proportions is also grayed out when Resample Image is unchecked. Again you will not have the option of changing the number of pixels in the image. This selection results in the proportions of the image being fixed. If an image is 30 pixels wide and 60 pixels igh, no matter the size it is printed, the height will always be twice he size of the width. If the width value in the Document Size section is changed, both the height and the resolution values will also change. Change the height value and the width and resolution values will change. Change the resolution value, and the width and height values will change. They all work together as a function. The only change that can be made ow is how large or small the image will print. Simply entering new values for the document size or by changing the resolution will do this. The onstrain Proportions option is also not needed when all you are doing is resizing the print size of the image.
Image Interpolation Options When Resampling Images
One more box is grayed out when the Resample Image box is unchecked. To the right of the Resample Image option is a drop-down box called either ‘Bicubic Sharper’ or simply ‘Bicubic.’
Time for the dictionary! “Bicubic” and “Bicubic Sharper” are what is called “iterpolation algorithms”. Don’t worry, simply put, this is what the Photoshop program does in regards to removed pixels when you resample the image to a smaller size, and how it handles added pixels when you resample the image to a larger size. Photoshop CS2 a third option called “Bicubic Smoother.” Image quality can be compromised if you are unsure of which option to use when. Use these basic rules: Bicubic Sharper - Using this option when resampling your image smaller provides best image quality Bicubic Smoother - Using this option when resampling your image larger provides best image quality Bicubic - Typically not used as often being replaced with Bicubic Sharper and Bicubic Smoother
Now comes some big words. “Bicubic” and “Bicubic Sharper” are what is called “interpolation algorithms”. All this boils down to is how the photoshop program handles removing pixels when you resample the image to a smaller size, and how it handles adding pixels when you resample the image to a larger size. In Photoshop CS2, there is another option added called “Bicubic Smoother.” Knowing when to use which option can make a big difference with image quality, but can be remembered with a basic rule as follows: Bicubic Sharper - Use this option when resampling your image smaller for best image quality Bicubic Smoother - Use this option when resampling your image larger for best image quality Bicubic - Not used as much with Bicubic Sharper and Bicubic Smoother being available These options will be grayed out here because they only apply to images that are being resampled. If all you are doing is changing how large or small the image will print on paper, you won’t need these options.
Summary Image resizing - Keeps the number of pixels in your image the same and affects only how large the image will print (the Document Size). Image resampling - Physically changes the number of pixels in the image (the Pixel Dimensions). Resample Image - Option located at the bottom of the Image Size dialog box that controls if you are resizing or resampling the image. Checking the Resample Image, means you are resampling the image. Unchecked, you’re simply resizing the image. Resample images by changing width and height values in the Pixel Dimensions section of the Image Size dialog box. It is used mostly when optimizing images for the web or computer screen. Resizing images by changing the width, height and/or resolution values in the Document Size section of the Image Size dialog box is used for printing the image.
Most users of the Internet have some form of spyware or adware installed on their system and don’t even know it. People have found ways to profit from spyware, so it is becoming more and more advanced. Using a spyware removal program that is as advanced is required to remove it.
What is the definition of spyware?
They are programs that run off of your hard drive and generally have an intent to spy on what you are doing on your computer. They can keep track of what websites you visit and what programs you run. Some programs can even log every keystroke you make and send it to a third party, revealing credit card numbers and Internet passwords.
How can it install itself on my computer?
It is usually downloaded along with other programs on the Internet. The software may download alongside other software that the user downloads or may just silently download onto the user’s computer while browsing a webpage.
Is spyware dangerous?
If you reveal a lot of personal information on your computer, then yes, it can be dangerous. It all depends on what you reveal to your computer and what any thrid party who may have access to it through spyware plans to do with it. It generally wants to stay hidden, so it does not damage your computer directly.
Is there a way to get it off my computer?
The best way to remove it is to use spyware protection software which can scan your computer for any threats that are present as well as protect it from any future threats.
If you have never used a spyware removal program before, chances are very good that you have spyware installed on your system. It is very widespread and if you use the Internet often it has probably found its way onto you computer somehow.
Microsoft Office Excel 2007 contains no menus or toolbars. However, it does include a feature called the Office Button which bears a remarkable similarity to a menu as well as a Quick Access Toolbar which functions a lot like the toolbars found in previous releases of Microsoft Office. In this article, we’ll take a look at these two features and see how they work.
Excel’s Office Button
The Office Button is found in the top left of the Excel screen. When you click it, a menu appears which resembles menus found in most software programs and also in previous versions of Excel. The Office Button menu allows you to create, open, save and print documents. It also contains options for preparing documents for distribution, closing the currently active document and exiting Excel altogether.
The Office Button also contains a list of the recently opened files. Next to the name of each file is a pin icon. This icon is used to pin the associated document. Pinning a document means that it won’t disappear from the list of recently opened files. By contrast, unpinned documents will eventually disappear from the list as files are created and opened.
It is also here that you will find “Excel Options”. (This is equivalent to Tools-Options found in previous versions of Excel.) Excel Options are displayed as a column of categorised tabs on the left of the dialog. Just click on a tab to reveal options in that category. The Excel Options customise the way in which Excel works. Let’s look at a few examples…
Excel’s Developer Tab (which contains commands for working with macros) is not visible when Excel is first installed. To make Excel display it, choose “Excel Options” from the Office Button and, in the “Popular” category, switch on the option “Show Developer Tab in the Ribbon”.
A second example… By default, each new document you create has three sheets. If you find this too many or too few, you can change the number of sheets which each new work will contain. Choose “Excel Options” from the Office Button and, in the “Popular” category, under the section headed “When Creating New Workbooks Include this Many Sheets”, simply enter your preferred number of sheets for each new workbook you create.
The Excel Quick Access Toolbar
The Excel Quick Access Toolbar is usually displayed in the top left of the screen, next to the Office Button. It functions in a similar way to the toolbars found in old versions of Microsoft Excel.
By default, the Quick Access Toolbar contains only three commands: saving the current workbook, undoing commands and redoing commands.
To the right of the three default commands is a menu which enables you to personalise the Quick Access Toolbar and determine which buttons are displayed and which commands remain hidden.
Each of the commands in the Quick Access Toolbar menu is a switch: if a command is active, when you select it, it will be removed: if a command is hidden, choosing it will make it visible.
Another method of customising the Quick Access Toolbar is to add your favourite options from the Excel Ribbon. Just right click on an option in any of the Tabs of the Ribbon. In the context menu which pops up, simply choose “Add To Quick Access Toolbar”.
If you find that you are using the Quick Access Toolbar a lot, you may find it convenient to move it below the Ribbon. Simply choose “Show Below The Ribbon” from the Quick Access Toolbar drop-down menu. You can also make the Quick Access Toolbar more accessible by minimising the ribbon. To do this, double-click on the name of any ribbon Tab or choose “Minimise the Ribbon” from the Quick Access Toolbar menu.

When trying to find a web hosting company to take care of your new website, you will need to do a lot of research to find a web host which will meet all of your web hosting needs - reading web host review sites can be invaluable in helping you make this important decision. If your website is for your business, it is especially important to choose your web host wisely. Web host review sites can make sure that you can be well informed about all of your web hosting options before signing a contract with any company.
When comparing the web host review sites themselves, look for the features which your site will need; not every web host review site is created equal and some may not include a comparison of the features which your site will require. For instance, you’ll need to know how much space will be available for your site on the server and the amount of bandwidth your site will be permitted to use. If your site will host streaming video or audio, you are going to need a lot more bandwidth than would a site which contains largely text.
Another thing that a good web host review site will let you know is whether or not “limitless” web hosting service will be suitable for your needs. You’ll find that while many sites will offer limitless bandwidth for a very small monthly fee, you need to think about how well that will really stack up. For instance, if you want to host things like a video archive or some form of streaming media, you’ll find that limitless actually does have limits and that you might end up paying a lot of money for going over the official amount.
When you are looking at web host reviews, you’ll also find that you get an idea of how their support staff will treat you. Remember that when you are looking to hire web hosing service that you need to think about emergencies. How well do you think this web hosting service will work if you find that you need to call them at 3 AM, telling them that people have problems with your site? You’ll find out from these reviews which services will get your problem dealt with quite promptly and which ones will let your problem sit and get to it later.
Be sure to have a good look through the web host review sites; there is a wealth of information out there which can help you to make a well informed decision about web hosting so you won’t be stuck with a web hosting service which doesn’t fulfill your needs.
Before you can edit or format your text, you need to select it. Selecting your text is a way of telling Microsoft Word that you want to work with a certain piece of text. (Selecting is also referred to as highlighting.)
The easiest way of selecting text is to position the cursor where you want your selection to start, click and hold the mouse button down and drag to the position where you want to end the selection. It is not necessary to drag across every single line that you want to select. It is sufficient to move in a straight line from start to the finish.
To deselect your text and remove the highlight, simply click anywhere in your text. The flashing text cursor will then reappear.
Another simple way of selecting text is to select the entire document. This is done via the “Select All” command. In Word 2007, the “Select All” command is found in the “Editing” section of the “Home” Tab. Click to display the “Select” menu and choose “Select All”.
The “Select All” command can be found in lots of programs and lots of different environments. It can also be done via the keyboard using Control-A: that is to say, keep the Control key held down while typing “A”.
As well as selecting characters by dragging across them, Word also allows you to select whole lines. To do this, place the cursor in the left margin and you’ll notice that it changes to an arrow pointing to the right. Once the cursor changes, you can simply click once to select a single line or click and drag to select multiple lines.
Another way of selecting text is to click multiple times. To select a word, double-click on the word; to select an entire paragraph, click three times within the paragraph.
It is also possible to select text using the keyboard. Most of these options involve using the Shift key. One such technique is click followed by Shift-click. First, click to mark the start of the area that needs to be highlighted; next hold down the Shift key and click to position the cursor at the point where you want the highlighting to end. All the text between the two clicks will then be highlighted.
To select text without the mouse, use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the cursor to the point where you want your selection. Next, press the Shift key together with one of the arrow keys. To select character by character, use the right or left arrow depending on the direction in which you want to move. To select line by line press the down or up arrow.
The Shift key can also be used together with the Control key. For example, if you hold down Control and Shift then press the right arrow, you will highlight word by word instead of character by character. Similarly, if you hold down Control and Shift and press the down cursor key, you will highlight paragraph by paragraph.
The Home and End keys can also be used in this context. For example, if the cursor is positioned in the middle of a line, pressing Shift and Home will select from that position to the start of the line while pressing Shift and End will select from the cursor position to the end of the line. Holding down Control and Shift and pressing the right arrow will select from the cursor position to the start of the document. Control, Shift and End will select from the cursor position to the end of the document.
So here is where it started …
I went to a car auction yesterday. I walked past the auctioneer and he made a funny joke about wouldn’t wanna make the big guy upset with me or anything. My head spun around looking for that big guy that the auctioneer was discussing publicly on his mic.
My head spun as I tried to locate that guy, and realized sheepishly that it was me.
About an hour later, a 2004 Chev Impala came down the line of cars and I heard from across the large auction area that it was going for 1600. I quickly shouldered my way thru 2 lanes of cars and people to see it.
By the time I got there, a lot of people had arrived there already and the bid started moving quickly upward from 1800 dollars.
I walked quickly around it and but that time the price was 2,000 dollars.
I looked in the window at the odometer and the price went to 2100.
2 seconds of indecision later allowed the price to move smoothly to 2,200 dollars. In the time to put up my hand - the price popped to 2300.
Finally I was noticed and the fast talking auctioneer set the price at 2,350 dollars. Then the strangest thing happened, everyone looked at me and there was silence. The bidding simply stopped.
The funny auctioneer tried for the next 30 seconds but no one would place another bid on the car. Finally, he made some joke about big arms frightening off the competition and stopped the bid.
So, I got this nice 2004 Chevy, worth about 5-6,000 for a mere 2350.
Guess sometimes size does matter.
And so what has this to do with internet marketing?
I told a friend of mine this story and he said that would not have happened if the auction took place online. And he was right. As an online marketer, seller or buyer, you can do everything in your pajamas, without your makeup, hair piece or eye shadow. You can’t be intimidated by someone else’s physical presence, their perfume, suggestive clothing, aggressive stance or any of those other human aspects.
To auction or not to auction. To buy or not to buy. The decision is entirely yours. To succeed or not is the difference between watching that game on TV for a few minutes more or getting yourself to an online site where you can research how is it is to make money online and exactly what steps you need to do that.
Running an online business from home is like a dream job. Demanding, sometimes frustrating but definitely worth the reward for the 5% who figure out how to make it work.
With an online business, to get out of bed or not is entirely your choice. You can work with your computer on your lap, snuggled up nice and warm under your blankets while others are fighting snow drifts trying to get to work…
Or, and this is my favorite - Get out on a beach. Feel the warm sand under your toes, bring that laptop and try not to let your annoying Attention Deficit Syndrome get the better of you — as scantily clad bodies get between you and your view of the warm inviting water, ahhh I mean your computer screen.
Last few weeks I have received hundreds of e-mails from subscribers asking me about how they can clean their computer and make them run faster. Well, everyone has been to hell at least once when your personal computer starts driving you insane with problems. Almost every PC will have 100 errors due to corrupt registry entries, about 95% of computers.
Computers today get jumbled with more harmful data, junk, and extra files than ever, resulting in poor PC performance. Most likely you have experienced issues like sluggishness, freezing, computer functions slower than usual, crashes, System stalls, Severe degradation in operating speed, Unstable and frequent application errors.
However, There is a way that you can scan the registry for unwanted entries and remove them. One of the most efficient methods is to use a registry cleaner software.
Before you give up on your computer take a moment and think if there are some other options to help you save a substantial amount of money. Ask yourself if you really need to spend $1000 on a new computer? Get Cheap! There is hope.
This is why Registry Repair Software has become so popular almost overnight. With this in mind registry repair becomes a rather cheap and simple task that will improve you computer performance without the expenses of technical expertise.
The Windows Registry is a hierarchical database of settings that is used to store the information relevant to its configuration, application, hardware and software files. Over time, your registry will grow as you add and remove software and hardware, and your computer will get cluttered with information. These additions and deletions will cause your Windows registry to end up fragmented and full of errors.
The software will select all the damaged pieces and delete or repair them. A good registry cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically helping it function smoothly and effectively without any glitches.
You may find some free registry cleaner downloads on the internet, now, none of us including myself at the front of the line, can resist the temptation to get something for free. Be very cautious because any mistake in this area can cost your dearly. Download software only from trusted sources.
Manytimes these strings are obvious and at other times they may not be. I am talking about spy-ware and ad-ware that can compromise your online security. You can be sure that absolutelly every free software comes with Cookies and tracking pixels used to spy and advertise in your computer, so this is a very serious matter.
In conclusion, Registry cleaner software is key to improving your PC performance and prevent glitches some of which may be identified as overall slow performance, error messages, or sudden crash of your system. Registry problems make your system behave in such a way.
Most software programs provide many features. Prior to opting to buy any of these software programs, you must always go through their ratings, and users reviews then invest your money on the one that best meets your requirements and Offer responsive and helpful customer support to ensure all your registry problems are eliminated.
So, you finally have your website up and running eh? Great! Now all you have to do is to sit back and wait for the visitors to come right on. But wait a minute there With over a billion websites existing at present and hundreds of thousands being added each day, how are visitors ever going to find their way to your website?
Welcome to the world of URL search engines! Simply put, a URL search engine is a simple program that trawls or crawls the web to look for keywords and classifies web pages on the basis of those keywords. This enables us to neatly categorize the worldwide web and to find relevant information when we need it. The search engine also has a front-end that we use to type in the query. When this query is run, it in effect searches through billions of URLs to identify and present those URLs which have the highest incidence of the search string.
But how do you submit your URL to search engines in the first place. With some URL search engines, it is as easy as going to the website and putting in your website URL for inclusion. For instance the URL search engine Google (www.google.com) feeds over 80 search engines, including the likes of AOL. So, visiting their website to ask for a free listing will ensue that if your URL is selected for inclusion, at least 80 search engines will reflect your URL in their search results. Inktomi is another URL search engine that feeds over 125 search engines including Yahoo, HotBot, MSN and several others. But Inktomi has no free submissions available. It only features paid search strings and submitting your URL here may not be worth the while.
But of course, you do not enhance the popularity of your website merely by putting it up on search engines. You do not even ensure top ranking for it! Your URL should get an index on the search engine. This process takes anywhere between a month and 8 weeks at times. Only if your website achieves some fame during this time, will it be indexed. So for quick results, opt for the pay-per-click option.
Where pay-per-click search engines are concerned, when web browsers type in specific keyword (s) into the search engine, some results are displayed. The minute a visitor clicks on the resulting websites, you will be charged a certain amount as the owner of that particular website. The payment depends on the keywords typed in or your rankings. If you want a higher rank, you pay more. So if you are more interested in getting traffic to your website rather than conducting any transactions, this option is the best.
Everything seems so easy on paper, but it is not really so! Imagine you have opted for the above-mentioned option. A few visitors click on your websites, but there are not really enough of them. Then is the amount you are paying substantiated by the traffic generated to your website or not? Will it really be worth it in the end? Your URL on the search engine results may become popular or not so popular. The expenses you have incurred are going more for advertising and marketing than for ensuring that your website becomes well known to visitors! So give it some serious thought before you go in for such an option.
