Five Best Selling Mini Laptop Computers

Posted By Lane Wright on April 23, 2009 @ 3:07 am
by Stephen Almanson

More and more people are buying laptop computers today than desk side computers. Its easy to see why these small computers are advantageous over the desk side models. For one thing, laptops offer flexibility. You can take them anywhere. Over the years, these computers have continued to get small and lighter. Now there is a sub-category of laptop computers referred to as small or mini laptop computers. If you are in the market for a mini laptop computer, you have an ever-growing number of choices. So how do you choose which of these mini computers is right for you?

There are many choices and deciding which of these computers is the right one for you can be somewhat overwhelming. When making a selection, popularity is one way to determine which product may be the best one for you. If more people are buying a particular model of something, there is a reasonable chance that this is a superior product. Below are the five top selling mini notebook laptop computers on the market today.

The first of these small laptop computers that we will consider is the Acer Aspire. This mini laptop offers a wide 9-inch screen. This reasonably sized screen is large for a mini laptop and is excellent for those people who use their computers frequently. The large sized screen offers bright, clear, sharp, high-quality imagery. This computer is a tad larger than other mini computers, but it is full featured.

The Asus Eee PC 1000 is the latest model from Asus. It is somewhat larger than prior models, however it is still small enough to remain within the mini computer sub-category. This computer offers superior battery life, which is certainly a consideration when dealing with laptop computers.

Dell is one of the most popular computer manufacturers. The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 inch is an excellent mini computer laptop. One key advantage to this computer is that it can be configured with a 16GB drive to afford the user with much more storage capacity than other small laptop computers. It has a reasonable battery life of 3.5 hours. However, as compared to other small laptop computers, the Dell battery life could be considered a weakness. As with most many Dell computers, you can customize the configuration of these models according to your desired attributes and specifications.

A slightly more costly choice might be the Hewlett Packard computers. The HP mini laptops tend to be somewhat more costly than the other choices mentioned here. Part of the reason for this is that HP computers usually offer more choices than other computer manufacturers. Because, they offer more, there is a reasonable chance that they will have options that you may be looking for in your mini computer. One option that the HP offers is a full sized keyboard.

Last, but not least, is the Sony option. Sony offers its VAIO line in the small computer category. The VAIO has an larger-than-average screen size. Their screen is just a bit smaller than 9 inches. Larger screens are very useful in these smaller sized computers. The VAIO is also lightweight, weighing in at just over three pounds. It also offers an 90 GB hard drive.

As you can see, there are many options to choose from. These five are just the top of the iceberg when it comes to the burgeoning smallish mini laptop computer genre. However these five options tend be among the best selling choices. If you were to select any of these five, you are likely to be buying a quality laptop that you will ultimately be satisfied with.

2 Tips to Level Faster in WoW

Posted By Seth Symonds on April 20, 2009 @ 3:23 am
by Seth Symonds

There are many different things you can do to level faster in WoW. In this article I am going to expose two basic (but important) things you can do to start leveling faster.

1. Set Your Inn/Hearth Location to either Shattrath or Dalaran

When BC (Burning Crusade) was launched they added a cool addition. That addition was the portals in Shattrath city to all other major cities.

What this basically means is that if you set your Hearthstone to “Shat” or Dalaran you can get to any of the other major cities clicking on the portal of the place you want to go.

In Shattrath you can choose between 2 different places to set you Hearthstone. This makes things a little more confusing because in Dalaran there are obvious inns.

1. Aldor Rise

2. Scryers Tier

You can find Aldors Rise and Scryers Tier by asking one of the guards, alternatively press the “M” key and they will appear on your map. Hint: You can take the lift to where you want to go. Scryers Tier is to the South, Aldors Rise is to the West.

Another little trick is that when you come to the lift to go down, you can jump right off and most of the time you won’t die (unless your character has poor health or body armor).

If you’re not yet a level 74, you’ll need to get a Mage to open the portal for you. This usually isn’t too hard to do in most cities – you might just need to flick the made a little gold to cover the cost of the reagent they will need to use to port you.

2. Get one of the new In Game Leveling Add-ons

A few different levelling add-ons have been released in the past 6 months. What they do is save you a heap of time by directing you exactly where you need to go. Questing is much faster as you never need to walk around aimlessly. These are a key addition for fast levelling.

I have been able to double my leveling time by using these add-ons. I highly recommend them if you are looking to level quickly and easily.

Footers and Headers in Microsoft Excel 2007

Posted By Andrew Whiteman on April 15, 2009 @ 3:09 am
by Andrew Whiteman

Headers and footers are particularly useful for documents that need several pages to print. The header is information printed at the top of each page; the footer at the bottom of the page. There are two ways of working with headers and footers in Excel and both are found in the Page Layout Tab Of the Excel Ribbon. When working in Normal mode, you can access headers and footers by clicking on the Launch button in the Page Setup section. Here, in the Header/Footer tab, you gain access to all of Excel 2007 features relating to headers and footers.

As you work with these options, you can click on the Print Preview button then to return to Headers/Footers, click on Page Setup. This method of editing headers and footers is particularly useful if you’re using a fairly small screen.

The second method requires you to be in Page Layout mode: to switch to Page Layout mode, simply click on the Page Layout icon on the right of the Status Bar. You can now gain direct access to the header and footer areas of the page. Simply follow the prompt that reads “Click to Add Header”. As soon as you activate the header or footer area, “Header & Footer Tools” appears on your ribbon. This consists of the context sensitive “Design” Tab. (A context sensitive Tab is one which only appears in certain contexts.)

Apart from their position on the page, Excel treats headers and footers as totally identical. Each one consists of three sections: left, centre and right. In each of these sections, you can insert a wide range of information. This is done by clicking on the buttons in the “Header And Footer Elements” section of the “Design” Tab. For example, at the bottom of the page, we might want to insert the date, the page number, “Page 1 of 4″, etc. To do this, we simply activate the footer area, type the word “Page” followed by a space, then click on the page number icon which will generate the page number. Then we type ” of ” and finally click on the “Number Of Pages” button.

Other items which can be inserted automatically include “File Path”, as in “c:\Excel Work\myfile.xlsx”; “File Name”, as in “myfile.xlsx”; and pictures, for example, your company logo. To insert a picture, click on the picture button and then double click on the picture to insert it, just as you would in any other region of the page. You can then resize the picture as necessary or increase/decrease the space available for the header/footer.

How To Get Cash Surveys

Posted By Jessenius Mariel on @ 5:52 am
by Jessenius Mariel

No one has a problem with extra cash. You can always use it on the next family vacation. You could always use it for bills.

One way to make extra money is to use the internet to your advantage. You can buy and sell on Ebay, offer writing services or your opinion. While buying and selling may be the most popular, giving your opinion is the easiest method.

The reality of the fact is that there are a decent amount of cash survey sites out there that do aim to rip people off. While it is unfair to the sites that do offer legitimate cash surveys, it is only fair to warn you. If you are looking into joining a site or partaking in a cash survey then you will need to protect your computer.

Some sites are trying to get your contact information so they can sell it to companies. Other sites focus on putting spyware onto your computer. Both cases can turn your life into a headache.

To participate and become an active member you will need a functional email account, a home address and a computer. You will need to create a new account that is tied to your email account. Once all that information is in, you will be able to start doing surveys.

Survey Monkey offers a handful of services to you when you are creating an online questionnaire. One of the best features that they have is that you can select from previously drafted surveys. This can save you a lot of time and effort on learning how to create an online survey.

Survey Monkey also offers business owners the chance to create a specific type of online survey. They offer numerous templates to choose from. Once you find one that fits you the best, you can customize it according to what you want.

To avoid scam you can check to see if the company has a real address. I don’t mean an internet address; but rather a zip code and state. You can also see if they have a phone number to be reached.

There is no such thing as an online survey paying seventy-five dollars for ten minutes. Your opinion is not worth that much. They will pay you a few bucks and offer free gifts. You can do a lot with that money.

People see the high paying deals and think that they can make a living off this service, while it is possible to supplement your income tremendously; it is not possible to provide for your family. You will not receive benefits or vacation. You will not receive any promotions or bonuses.

It is unfair for the legitimate online cash survey sites because scams are flooding the internet. Now the legit company is automatically assumed to be a scam. This also hurts companies who need the surveys.

The Advantages Of Using Nationwide Data Recovery Services

Posted By Richard Sachs on @ 5:07 am
by Richard Sachs

If you have a computer or laptop at home and you have a problem with data loss then you have a range of fairly simple solutions open to you. You can try and fix the problem yourself or you can bring in a local computer technician or even a data recovery firm to help you out.

The same applies if you run your own business of one or more offices in a fairly close regional location. But, this might not be the best solution if you have a bigger business with multiple regional offices spread all over the country.

The fact is that many larger businesses have very real problems when they need data recovery services. The problem here is the fact that you cannot predict when you need this kind of help but, when you do need it, the average business needs it fast.

So, your business may have a great locally based data recovery expert to help out with issues you’ve had at your head office. But, what if one of your regional offices develops a problem and needs data recovery help for the first time? Your local expert may not be able to help so they may have to find their own solution.

The problem here is one often associated with ‘panic buying’. This often happens to us as businesses and as consumers when we have a problem that needs urgent attention but we do not know which service provider to use. So, we pick one that looks OK and hope that things will work out.

The problem here for many businesses is that sticking a pin in a phone directory and using the data recovery service that it lands on may not be good enough and it could cost you more money than you actually need to be spending.

As a solution, a lot of larger companies and businesses whose employees/offices are spread out over a large distance will opt instead to use a nationwide data recovery service. Here, the company sets the standard by choosing a larger data recovery provider with the staff and technical expertise necessary to the right job at the right time in the right place.

Choosing this kind of service also generally means that you can cover your regional offices and/or staff. Unlike a purely local expert these kinds of firms may well have staff and/or offices strategically placed all over the country so that they can respond to issues quickly and effectively.

This kind of relationship is worth looking at if you worry about the cost of hiring a computer expert in times of crisis. It will generally be cheaper for your business to use a nationwide service as you may be able to negotiate company wide rates.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, using this kind of solution gives you a consistency of service that you just won’t get from a series of diverse data recovery specialists. The company will understand your technology and how your company works which could save you considerable time and money if problems do happen.

Page View Modes In Microsoft Excel 2007

Posted By Andrew Whiteman on @ 4:59 am
by Andrew Whiteman

Although Excel’s Print Preview facility is fairly useful, it is purely a preview mode. You can’t work on your data while in Print Preview mode. In addition to Print Preview, Excel has two new modes of working which offer similar benefits to Print Preview while allowing you full access to your data. Access to these modes is via the status bar. Here, you’ll find buttons which can take you from Normal mode to Page Layout or to Page Break Preview.

Normal mode is the Excel’s default mode. In Normal mode, the focus is on modifying and entering your data without thinking too much about pagination. If you print or preview your data, Excel will paginate the worksheet and insert dotted lines to show you the page breaks. This is normally the only feedback you will get which relates to the printed version of your document.

In contrast to Normal view, Page Layout view gives you a permanent preview of where page breaks will occur and which data will be printed on which pages. When you are in Page Layout view, try zooming out so that you can see more of the worksheet and you’ll notice that Excel displays margins on the left, right, top and bottom, as well as headers and footers. However, the cool thing is that Page Layout view not simply a preview mode. You still have access to all the data within your worksheet and you can edit all the data and formulas in your cells. If the printed version of your worksheet is to be the important one, you may find it convenient to stay in this mode permanently; particularly if you have the benefit of a large monitor.

Excel’s third mode is called Page Break Preview. When you click on the Page Break Preview button that Excel conveniently zooms out so that you can see more of your worksheet. Page Break Preview mode is not dissimilar to Normal mode. Like Normal mode, it is not WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) and neither headers and footers nor margins are shown. However, the key difference between Normal mode and Page Break Preview mode is that, when you’re working in Page Break Preview mode, the page break margins can be dragged.

This is a very useful facility: if you want to force a given column of data onto the next page, you just drag the blue dotted line representing the page break to the left of that column. It’s a deceptively simple feature. In fact, many experienced Excel 2003 users may even mistake the dotted lines representing page breaks for those which are displayed in Normal mode and may not even realise that these lines can in fact be dragged.
